Believe it or not, Carlos Gomez is still playing baseball in the big leagues.

Although, since it’s for Tampa Bay, you could classify it as “just barely.”

Look, when you’re hitting 34 points below your weight at this level and striking out 26 percent of the time you step up to the plate, you better be making extraordinary plays in the field. So I guess you could say that Gomez catching the ball despite diving in foul ground near the bullpen while getting scissored by his teammate qualifies as one of those plays.
