Tony Richardson was one of the greatest fullbacks in NFL history, and since he was the 2011 Byron “Whizzer” White NFL Man of the Year Award winner, he must be one hell of a gentleman.

But it appears as though all of those years blocking for 1,000-yard backs have really put a damper on his ability to compete at a high level if he entered a spelling bee for kindergartners. Then again, he is from Alabama, so maybe he’d still have a shot. Either way, here he is trying to spell “Jets” at the NFL Draft over the weekend:

Damn, man. When you think about it, it’s a plural word, so the “s” should be the easiest letter to guess correctly.

All I know is somewhere Dexter Manley is cracking open a bottle of champagne to celebrate the fact that he’s not the only one who struggles with four-letter words. If it’s any consolation, we don’t think Sidney Crosby would be able spell “Jets” correctly right now either…

And just think, that hit was from a former teammate. I mean, those guys used to shower together, and now it’s come to this. Hockey is crazy, man…
