Praise Jesus! Tim Tebow Prop Bets Actually Exist

special to the DUD from Sean Green of the Sports Gambling Podcast

Two of the things I’m most passionate about in life are the Philadelphia Eagles and gambling on NFL football. I’ve already broken down the NFL Week One lines, and I can’t find any props yet for the NFL draft. Thankfully, there is something we can gamble on: Tim Tebow. For all the over-hype and over-cover of the Tebow signing, the ability to gamble on him is a silver lining.

Side note: I actually like Tim Tebow. Everyone gives him shit for being religious, but if you couldn’t throw a spiral and got signed to play QB in the NFL wouldn’t you believe in God?

Will Tim Tebow make the Eagles 53-man roster for Game 1 of the 2015 Regular Season?

Yes +170 / No -250

Honestly, NO -250 is a good price and probably the right call, even with Mark Sanchez coming out that the Eagles signed Tebow simply because they needed an extra arm in camp until Bradford is healed.

However, I’m a gambler and I’m going with +170 YES! The NFL is poised to make the two-point rule easier to add excitement to the game and Tebow would be the perfect two-point specialist. Plus, Chip Kelly loves talking culture, and who’s a better guy to bring in than a God-fearing yes man who loves to hustle?

If Tim Tebow makes the Eagles 53-man roster for Game 1 of the 2015 Regular Season, will he start a game at QB during the season?

Yes +300 / No -500

This is a very interesting proposition for one reason, ‘start’ is an interesting word. Will Tebow start a game and play the majority of the snaps? No, of course not. Would he come in on the first play to make a defensive coordinator scratch his head and rethink his entire game plan, possibly? I’m going to have to go chalk here, though, with NO -500. Chip Kelly is crazy but he’s not fucking retorted…

If Tim Tebow makes the Eagles 53-man roster for Game 1 of the 2015 Regular Season, what will happen first?

Gets cut, traded, released or retires +110

Rushes for a TD +200

Throws a TD Pass +200

Records a TD Reception +1400

Again, this all comes down to the terminology being used. I think a successful two-point conversion is much more likely than any sort of TD. The odds he makes the roster and then gets cut, traded, released or retires is pretty tempting.

Chip Kelly has a lot of failed experiments, but you are probably better off betting against him to make the 53-man roster. I will go with RUSHES FOR A TD +200, because there is a God, and he loves Tim Tebow…
